Nationalism, Religion and Violence in Europe 2016

The Summer Seminar will focus on four different but interconnected themes. Every theme will be discussed over two consecutive days, being divided into three subsections (Framework and Theory, Interdisciplinary Approach, Case Study) and a fieldwork. Overall, the Seminar will take place over 10 days, 60 working hours including fieldwork trips. In addition, a Sunday trip to Terezín (Theresienstadt) memorial will be organized. The themes specification and schedule will be following:

June 20, 2016 – Program Opening

 June 21-22, 2016 – Theme 1: Institutions and Politics

 June 23-24, 2016 – Theme 2: Violence (incl. Genocide)

June 26, 2016 – Trip to Terezín Ghetto Memorial (Theresienstadt)

June 27-28, 2016 – Theme 3: Nationalism and Borders

 July 29-30, 2016 – Theme 4: Memory

 July 1, 2016 – Official Program Closure
